FRHRP can provide you with financial assistance through a cost sharing arrangement to access the training required for you to pursue your employment plan.

Financial assistance could be available in way of; training costs, tuition and books, dependant care and living costs depending on your need assessment.

What is Single Seat Sponsorship?

Single Seat Sponsorship is a labour market program delivered by the FRHRP that supports participants when accessing training leading to employment by paying some of the related costs.  This is provided by purchasing single seats in relevant training programs usually offered in urban training institutions.


What is the objective of Single Seat Sponsorship?

The objective to Single Seat Sponsorship is to assist individuals to access training leading to employment through a cost sharing arrangement. These types of sponsorships are made available through the Post Secondary Program of the Fisher River Education Authority, through a partnership with the FRHRP.

 

Who is eligible to apply?

Fisher River Members registered under the Indian Act, and who are residents of Manitoba, who are facing serious labour market difficulty for whom employment skills training is required to overcome their employment barriers and who are in need of financial assistance.


What are some of the eligible costs?

Single Seat Sponsorship Program can cover costs such as tuition, books, dependant care, living costs, and any other costs related to the training plan.  Individuals on EI regular benefits can be transferred to EI training benefits, for the duration of their claim.
