SUPPORT SERVICES COORDINATOR
Fisher River Cree Nation is presently seeking a Support Services
Coordinator. Working under the direction of the FRCN Chief and
Council, the Support Services Coordinator will be responsible in
providing day to day functions/management and coordination of the
Wellness Team which includes the NNADAP, Mental Health, Community
Wellness Worker and Compliance and Resource programs and its
services.

Main Duties Include:
- Providing administrative and managerial functions which may
include preparing and monitoring budgets, developing an annual
work plan and proposal development
- Over-all supervision of the Wellness Team (NNADAP, Mental
Health, Community Wellness Worker and Compliance and Resource
Officer) in case management of individuals/clients and follow up
requirements.
- Oversee the referral services of treatment programs,
counseling and local support services to individuals, clients
and families.
- ensuring follow-up procedures to clients in treatment/after
care programs; via the various support services
- Act as a liason with local support service providers, (ICFS,
Health Centre, Social Services etc)
- Assisting the Wellness Team in the development of
resources/workshops and training in promoting positive lifestyle
choices to the community.
- Maintaining strict confidential guidelines in all aspects
pertaining to the individual/client and case referrals
- Other assigned duties
- Ensuring follow-up/referral to individuals/employee's who
have tested positive with respect to the standard/random drug
test as per the FRCN By-Law 2004-01, Sec. 8.01.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent
education and related experience may be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience in
behavioral health counseling, crisis counseling, case management
or related community support services.
- Competencies in the areas of leadership, interpersonal
skills, communication (both written and verbal), results
management, critical thinking and self-management are required
- Knowledge of NNADAP, Building Healthy Communities and Mental
Health programs and services
- Knowledge of Manitoba Mental Health act & NNADAP Referral
Criteria
- Extensive knowledge of addictions services/programs in and
outside Manitoba
- Knowledge of First Nation culture, history and issues
- Previous experience in providing support referral services
to clients/individuals/families
- Experience in dealing with external funding agencies (eg.
FNIHB) an asset
- Previous supervisory experience in service delivery

- Computer Skills are essential
- Satisfactory criminal records check and child abuse registry
check must accompany resume
- Copy of valid Drivers License (to accompany resume) and
access to a vehicle required for work related purposes.
