The opening act of the triple headline show is Highway 101. They have been credited in helping the new country genre and jump starting the music careers of Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson with their up tempo Country/Rock sound. Formed in 1986, Highway 101 has produced numerous hits such as “the bed you made for me”, “whiskey, if you were a woman”, and “cry,cry,cry”. They have been nominated for Grammy awards on two occasions and have won two Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Awards for Vocal Group of the Year. Their performances have garnered them great reviews over the past 20 years.

The second headliner in this years celebration burst on to the Country music scene in the early 1990’s and have sold over 6 million albums world wide. Little Texas has recorded top 10 hits such as “Kick a Little”, “God Blessed Texas”, and “What Might Have Been”. They are known as a band that achieved success through pure hard work and dedication by touring sometimes over 300 times a year. Their performance has been described as high energy in your face Country mixed with Southern down home Rock n’ Roll.

The last performer of the evening will be Country Music legend, Pam Tillis. Over the years Pam has won three Country Music Association Awards and one Grammy. She has produced several hits including “Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)”, “Cleopatra, Queen of Denial” and “Shake the Sugar Tree”. Her traditional country style has drawn comparison to Country Music pioneers Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. She has written songs for such artist as Juice Newton, Conway Twitty and this years co-headliners Highway 101. If past reviews are an indicarion, Pam Tillis promises to put on a stellar show.

This year’s community celebration is sure to be a hit with a powerful lineup including a triple headliner of Highway 101, Little Texas and Pam Tillis. This year’s lineup also includes up and coming country star Shane Yellowbird, Manitoba’s very own Eagle & Hawk, Comedian “That Canadian Guy” Glen Foster, Comedian/Juggler Robin Chesnut from Tuelon, and fiddler extraordinaire Clint Dutiaume. NCI’s Jasmine and O.S.E.D.C Director George Crate will handle the emcee duties for this action packed event. The event will end with an awesome fireworks display from Mistahi Awasis Fireworks Display which is owned and operated by Lloyd Cochrane.

Clint Dutiaume is making his second appearance at the community celebration. His band will perform on stage to kickoff this year’s event. Mr. Dutiaume will also be providing back up for the community showcase. Anyone wanting to participate in the showcase is asked to contact our office at 645-3733 and speak to George, Rhonda or Rob. We are looking for all types of entertainers from singers to dancers to showcase the talent we have here in Fisher River.

Comedian/Juggler Robin Chesnut is making is celebration debut this year. Robin is from Tuelon Manitoba and is considered a Canadian Juggling Champion. His blend of Juggling and Comedy has drawn rave reviews from the corporate, festival, and showroom audiences he has performed in front of.

Comedian Glen Foster is also scheduled to perform at this years event. Mr. Foster is a seasoned veteran of the Canadian comedy scene, performing over the past 20 years. His performance has been seen by audiences across Canada on shows such as Just for Laughs, Comics and the Winnipeg Comedy festival. Glen is known to his fans by his popular moniker “That Canadian Guy”.

Eagle & Hawk are also making their first appearance at the annual celebration. They have won several awards including a Juno for “Best Music of Aboriginal Canada”. Their unique blend of traditional Aboriginal roots and modern rock have made them a popular group throughout Manitoba and the rest of Canada. We are extremely proud and excited that they have included us in their summer North American tour.

The afternoon show will go off on a high note with a performance by up and coming artist Shane Yellowbird. Shane’s career has really taken off with his debut CD release “Life is calling my name”. His latest single “Pickup Truck” can be heard on NCI and mainstream Country radio stations throughout Canada. As of June 16, 2007, it currently is number 5 on the Top 20 Chevy countdown on CMT. With his rising star status, his addition to this years lineup promises to be great.
